What is the Abbey Academic Merit Scholarship Program (AMSP)?

The Abbey Academic Merit Scholarship Program is an initiative by the Abbey Merit Foundation aimed at providing financial support to talented indigenes of Ido Ile Ekiti pursuing tertiary education in Nigerian universities.

Who is eligible to apply for the scholarship?

Only indigenes of Ido Ile Ekiti, either by father or mother, are eligible to apply. Applicants must have completed their six years of secondary education at Ido Ile, as certified by the School Principal.

Can students in private universities apply for the scholarship?

Yes, the scholarship is open to students in both public and private universities accredited by the National University Commission (NUC).

What are the qualification criteria for applicants?

Applicants must be in their second year of full-time study at accredited universities. They must have a minimum CGPA of 3.5 in a 5-grade system, certified by the university authority.

How can I apply for the scholarship?

Upon admission and resumption in the university, interested students can upload their WASCE/' O" Level result, JAMB result slips, JAMB admission letter, and application for the scholarship on the website.

When should I upload my first-semester results?

After the first semester, students should upload their results and a copy of their Student Identity Card on the website. The ID card must be uploaded before subsequent payments.

How are scholarship offers made?

Offers will be made to students based on the qualification criteria. Once accepted, the scholarship amount will be credited directly to the student's bank account.

Are returning applicants required to submit additional documents?

Returning applicants must attach certified copies of results by the minimum CGPA.

Is there a financial reward for teachers of qualified students?

Yes, the teacher(s) who taught qualified students in their highest scoring subject in the JAMB examination will be granted a financial reward, whether still in the school or not or has/has retired.

How many years of scholarship support does the program offer?

The scholarship program supports students for each year of their full-time study in the university up to the completion of their academic program.

Can I update my bank account details if they change?

Yes, beneficiaries can update their bank account details by notifying the scholarship trustee.

Is there any review process for students who partly completed secondary education at Ido Ile?

Yes, the qualification criteria for students who partly completed secondary education at Ido Ile will be reviewed by the Trustee for a possible waiver.
